  • "As a multi-instrumentalist and a music teacher myself, I give Emily 5 stars, hands down. I am very particular when searching for a teacher to help me in my musical endeavors. Because music is my passion and career, I am very detail oriented and can get extremely picky in choosing an instructor. From the first time meeting her online, I was impressed with her ability to make me feel very comfortable. Emily is super friendly, warm, amazingly positive and knowledgeable in her field. After our online lesson, I decided to pursue in person lessons. I haven’t been disappointed once. She has been extremely supportive every week. Not only is she helpful in developing my technique but also nurtures the spiritual and psychological side of my fears, hesitances and past trauma in singing. I studied classical voice in the past and received negative feedback from my instructor leading me to believe I had no future with singing. At first I was just looking for my voice, but her studio actually does so much more like voice, guitar, piano, songwriting, and even acting. With just a few lessons she’s already taught me the basics and what I need to do with my voice to be successful. She really cares about why you’re singing, your passions, weaknesses, and goals. From the first lesson she takes the time to know you, and as the lessons go on you build a good relationship with her. She is enthusiastic, great with my 10 year old--who always looks forward to her lessons and hanging out with Emily---and has been instrumental in helping Lucy progress in her singing and ability to discern different pitches and other exercises.   • "My experience with Emily has been nothing but superb. I probably presented one of her biggest challenges as someone singing for over 30 years and and set in my ways. Instead of mallable clay she could shape by hand, she needed a chisel. Despite having been advised from time to time to take voice lessons, I was always reluctant for fear that it would throw me off. Emily made me comfortable from day 1 and has been patient and persuasive in getting me to rethink many of my approaches. I've learned to trade my considerable volume for control and to tap into the emotional core of songs. I am a far better performer now than when I started with her.
